Подскажите, пожалуйста,какие популярные летние программы(школы) в России и за рубежом,есть для математиков выпускников 4-го курса, поступающих в магистратуру. Есть ли смысл их посещать, или лучше заниматься дома?

http://lipari.cs.unict.it/LipariSchool/Bio
July 19 - July 25, 2015
Lipari Island, Italy

Aim and scope:
Computational Dynamic Analysis of Biological Processes is one of the most challenging research areas in modern life science. Topics such as Disease Dynamics, Drug Resistance, Immune System Analysis, Emerging Mutations, Microbiome Analysis, and Biological Networks Evolution involve intriguing and still unsolved problems. On the other hand, the availability of Next Generation Sequencing and other High-throughput techniques provide a strong support for scientists working in this field. Our main and special guest lectures will address the scope focusing on algorithms, computational models, biomedical and biotechnological results on this field. From the enclosed bibliography, it appears that the selected themes have received much attention in the scholarly literature ranging from Nature and Science to Bioinformatics Journals.

--- Early registration deadline: November 15, 2015 ---
********************************************************

AIM:

BigDat 2016 will be a research training event addressed to graduates and postgraduates in the first steps of their academic career. With a global scope, it aims at updating them about the most recent advances in the critical and fast developing area of big data, which covers a large spectrum of current exciting research and industrial innovation with an extraordinary potential for a huge impact on scientific discoveries, medicine, engineering, business models, and society itself. Renowned academics and industry pioneers will lecture and share their views with the audience.

Most big data subareas will be displayed, namely: foundations, infrastructure, management, search and mining, security and privacy, and applications. Main challenges of analytics, management and storage of big data will be identified through 4 keynote lectures, 20 six-hour courses, and 1 round table, which will tackle the most active and promising topics. The organizers are convinced that outstanding speakers will attract the brightest and most motivated students. Interaction will be a main component of the event. An open session will give participants the opportunity to present their own work in progress in 5 minutes.

ADDRESSED TO:

Graduates and postgraduates from around the world. There are no formal pre-requisites in terms of academic degrees. However, since there will be differences in the course levels, specific knowledge background may be assumed for some of them. BigDat 2016 is also appropriate for more senior people who want to keep themselves updated on recent developments and future trends. All will surely find it fruitful to listen and discuss with major researchers, industry leaders and innovators.

REGIME:

In addition to keynotes, 2-3 courses will run in parallel during the whole event. Participants will be able to freely choose the courses they will be willing to attend as well as to move from one to another.

VENUE:

BigDat 2016 will take place in Bilbao, the capital of the Basque Country region, famous for its gastronomy and the seat of the GuggenheimMuseum. The venue will be:

OPEN SESSION

An open session will collect 5-minute presentations of work in progress by participants. They should submit a half-page abstract containing title, authors, and summary of the research to adrian.dediu (at) urv.cat by February 5, 2016.

ORGANIZING COMMITTEE:

Adrian Horia Dediu
Carlos Martín-Vide (co-chair)
Iker Pastor López (co-chair)
Borja Sanz (co-chair)
Florentina Lilica Voicu

REGISTRATION:

It has to be done at http://grammars.grlmc.com/bigdat2016/registration.php

The selection of up to 8 courses requested in the registration template is only tentative and non-binding. For the sake of organization, it will be helpful to have an approximation of the respective demand for each course.

Since the capacity of the venue is limited, registration requests will be processed on a first come first served basis. The registration period will be closed and the on-line registration facility disabled when the capacity of the venue will be complete. It is much recommended to register prior to the event.

FEES:

Participants are expected to attend full-time. Fees are a flat rate allowing the attendance to all courses during the week. There are several early registration deadlines. Fees depend on the registration deadline.

ACCOMMODATION:

Suggestions of accommodation are available on the webpage.

CERTIFICATE:

Participants will be delivered a certificate of attendance.

Summer School in Advanced Probability
Novosibirsk State University, Sobolev Institute of Mathematics
August 18-21, 2016, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation

The School is associated with the VIth Conference "Modern Problems in Theoretical and Applied Probability". Its aim is to facilitate communication among participants, and to provide an in-depth introduction to the field of probability theory. The School is intended for undergraduate and PhD students interested in probability theory, statistics, and applications of these techniques.

The School's working language is English.

Invited speakers

Peter Mörters, Professor of Probability (University of Bath, United Kingdom)
Marc Lelarge, Head of Research group (INRIA, Paris, France)

Scientific programme
All participants are encouraged to make a poster presentation about their research work during the evening scientific session of the School.

Courses
Branching Processes with Reinforcement

Lecturer: Prof. Peter Morters, University of Bath, UK
In this minicourse we look at a class of stochastic processes with reinforcement, which includes urn models, preferential attachment networks with fitness, and genetic house-of-cards models. These processes can be described in terms of a class of general branching processes, often called Crump-Mode-Jagers processes. In the first part of the course I will explain the classical convergence theory of these processes under the assumption of existence of a Malthusian parameter. We will explore when this assumption is satisfied in our examples. In the second part I will present recent research (joint with Steffen Dereich and Cecile Mailler) exploring the interesting phenomena that may occur if this assumption fails.

Statistical Mechanics, Graphical Models And Message Passing Algorithms

Lecturer: Dr. Marc Lelarge, INRIA, Paris, France
Many problems of interest in computer science, information theory and statistics can be phrased in terms of a probability distribution over discrete variables associated to the vertices of a large graph. In recent years, considerable progress has been achieved by viewing these distributions as Gibbs measures and applying to their study heuristic tools from statistical physics. In this course, we will review this approach and provide some results towards a rigorous treatment of these problems.
